US credit card provider Visa plans to further expand its presence in the German market. According to Albrecht Kiel, the company's central Europe chief, up to eleven million euros are to be invested again this year in expanding acceptance points in Germany.
By doing this, Visa aims to further strengthen its leading position in Germany.
As part of the investments, a growth of 20 percent in the number of Visa acceptance points in brick-and-mortar retail has already been recorded. With a total of 1.27 million locations, Visa is present at more terminals for the first time than traditional bank cards. This impressive growth confirms the strong demand for Visa credit cards in Germany.
The Payment Volume with Debit and Credit Cards Has Also Increased. In the Fiscal Year 2023, a Growth of 25 Percent Was Recorded. Particularly Pleasing is the 33 Percent Increase in Visa Debit Cards, Which Have Now Risen to Approximately 16 Million.
