Apple prepares groundbreaking Siri update

Apple has developed an internal iPhone app reminiscent of ChatGPT to test and prepare the long-awaited overhaul of Siri next year. According to insider information, this app is used to rapidly evaluate new functions for Apple's voice assistant, including the ability to search personal data and perform app actions. Currently, this software carries the codename "Veritas" and is intended solely for internal use. A release for consumers is not planned at this time. The app is a testing tool that enables employees to more efficiently test the still-developing Siri technology and gather valuable feedback on the application of the chatbot format. This internal use signals a new phase in preparation for the Siri update, a crucial step that could significantly influence the perception of Apple's efforts in the field of artificial intelligence. If the revised version of Siri functions as promised, it would support Apple's journey back to AI excellence. Otherwise, the company risks falling further behind competitors like Google and Samsung. Although Apple did not highlight its in-house AI platform during the presentation of the new iPhone 17, the planned introduction of the revised Siri version is scheduled for March, after initially being expected in the spring. These tests are intended to evaluate the fundamental "Linwood" system, which is based on large language models and combines developments from Apple's own R&D department with external technologies.
