The Pakistani fabric manufacturer Interloop has received a prestigious award: it has now been adorned with the Gold Certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) for its production facilities in Lahore. This remarkable recognition underscores the company's efforts to implement sustainable water usage strategies, particularly in its sustainability-oriented denim and hosiery factories, which have been awarded LEED Platinum status. The AWS certification provides a framework that enables organizations to assess their water consumption and impact. This promotes sustainable and collaborative management of water catchment areas. Particularly noteworthy are Interloop's initiatives to reduce water consumption by using technologies such as nanobubble tech to purify water from contaminants and make production processes more efficient. Interloop's commitment, however, extends beyond its own facilities. Drinking water projects have been initiated in the surrounding areas, such as at a social hospital and a girls' school. This demonstrates the company's strong sense of social responsibility, highlighting its connection to the communities in which it operates. Sustainable material usage also holds significant importance for Interloop. The ambitious goal to source approximately 70 percent of used materials sustainably by 2025 shows a commitment to ecological responsibility. This philosophy is also supported by the introduction of Loomshake technology, an innovative product made from cotton and banana fibers, already used by Guess. In addition to sustainability, Interloop stands out as a manufacturing partner for renowned brands such as Nike, Adidas, and H&M. The AWS Gold Certification, which is valid for three years, is an impressive testament to the progress Interloop has made on a global scale. It is the first textile company in the world to achieve this standard and plans to expand these water management successes throughout the entire company chain.
