Oracle presents innovative tools to accelerate application development at CloudWorld

Oracle has introduced new solutions at CloudWorld to accelerate the development and deployment of applications on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Central to this is Oracle Code Assist, an AI-powered code assistant now available through the Oracle Beta Program. This innovation promises to enhance developer productivity with intelligent suggestions, thereby making routine tasks in the software development cycle more efficient. Another noteworthy development concerns the OCI Kubernetes Engine (OKE). The current improvements are aimed at optimizing the scaling and management of AI workloads. This includes simplifying the deployment and management of native cloud application units on OCI. Oracle Code Assist is offered as a plugin for development platforms like JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA and Microsoft Visual Studio Code. It allows developers to use modern programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SuiteScript, Rust, Ruby, Go, PL/SQL, C#, and C in an optimized work environment. "These new features significantly accelerate application development and enable developers to leverage AI to reduce the time spent on everyday tasks," said Sudha Raghavan, Senior Vice President, Developer Platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. "Thousands of Oracle engineers are already using Oracle Code Assist to generate standard code, conduct unit tests, create documentation, and get answers to coding questions." Major customers such as Nomura Research Institute (NRI), Inworld, 8x8, and GeneDx are already leveraging these innovative OCI solutions. For instance, NRI uses Java and plans to utilize Oracle Code Assist to accelerate Java optimization and application development. The communication platform Inworld, specializing in AI-powered game development, employs OKE to manage its machine learning models. Thanks to the new improvements, they can handle their AI requirements at scale and focus on business problems. The company 8x8 also benefits from OCI's global presence and capabilities to efficiently run their Kubernetes microservices. GeneDx, a pioneer in the field of medical genetics, has migrated its core platforms to OCI, resulting in remarkable efficiency gains and cost savings.
