Additionally, Disney and ESPN face the necessity of obtaining approval from the Trump administration for acquiring the NFL Network. In Florida's political climate, Disney also finds itself in a conflict with Governor Ron DeSantis. Amid this criticism, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner expressed concern over the lack of commitment to freedom of expression. The conservative critique of Kimmel, despite disagreements over his comments, is seen as a dangerous trend toward censorship. Even established conservative voices like the Wall Street Journal have expressed concerns over regulatory pressure, which they view as politically motivated.
