ADAC warns of dangerous child seats – models from Chipolino and Reecle fail the crash test
Parents should take two popular child seat models out of circulation: ADAC urgently warns, following recent crash tests, against the Chipolino Olympus i-Size and the Reecle 360 (also known as ZA10 i-Size or 946i i-Size). Both seats failed in frontal impact tests and pose a high risk of injury to children.

Seats detach from the mount during crash
In both cases, buckled children could suffer severe injuries. While both models withstood the test when installed facing the direction of travel, they are not considered safe for the mandated rear-facing transport. Additionally, ADAC generally advises parents to secure children up to two years of age facing against the direction of travel.

What affected parents should do now
The complete results of the current ADAC child car seat test will be published on October 21. Even now, the case makes it clear: the legal requirements for child car seats are significantly below ADAC's safety standards – and not every approved product reliably protects in an emergency.
