The well-known early-stage investor Jasper Masemann leaves Cherry Ventures and joins Discovery Ventures as a General Partner – the fund by Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonnek, who have already celebrated great successes with investments in Trade Republic, Flaschenpost, and Navan.

Discovery Ventures is considered one of the silent stars of the Berlin startup scene. Since selling their company Zeitgold to Deel, Deepen and Jeschonnek have focused entirely on their investment business. Their approach: very early-stage investments, where they also provide operational support to founding teams.

Masemann brings his experience in fundraising and building young startups and will be an equal partner in the new 40-million-euro fund. Despite the successes, the Discovery founders remain true to their philosophy: few deals, but close collaboration with the founders – an approach that makes the fund one of Germany's most exciting early-stage investors.
