The London start-up Keyless, founded by German Fabian Eberle, is on the verge of its second exit in four years. After the failed merger with the US company Sift, the specialist in biometric authentication is now being acquired by the American identity management corporation Ping Identity. The goal: to roll out its own technology globally and integrate it firmly into the Ping platform.
Keyless has made a name for itself with its AI-based solution for password-free identification. Users simply look into the camera – the software recognizes based on biometric features whether it is actually a real person, thus protecting against deception attempts with photos, masks, or deepfakes. Customers include N26, Moneyfarm, and the Intesa Sanpaolo Bank.
After the sale to Ping Identity, Eberle now wants to accelerate growth. "We have found the right platform to make our technology available worldwide," he says. With integration into the US company, Keyless is to play an even bigger role in the global fight against cybercrime in the future - this time with a suitable partner.
