HP and Juniper: Tension Over Planned Merger

Leading representatives of Juniper and HP Enterprises met last week with antitrust regulators from the Department of Justice. In these talks, they urged the agency not to block their planned merger. This meeting, referred to as a "last call meeting," could lead to the department approving the merger with conditions to address competition concerns. Whether the U.S. will actually attempt to stop the deal could be decided this week. However, the two companies are also considering delaying the merger until President Trump is in office, as his Department of Justice might take a more lenient stance.
